Luxura — Luxury Shopping App

Premium mobile shopping experience for a luxury fashion brand — editorial product presentation, curated collections, seamless checkout, and a personal stylist chat.

Project Details

Luxura is the flagship mobile app for a premium fashion label entering the direct-to-consumer space. The brand required a digital experience that matched the exclusivity and editorial quality of their physical stores — not the standard grid-list product catalogue. We designed a cinematic mobile experience with full-bleed editorial product photography, a scroll-driven collection story format, a curated 'Your Edit' personalization layer, and a white-glove personal stylist chat interface. Every micro-interaction and transition was documented in a 90-screen motion spec for development handoff.

Project Research

We benchmarked the top 12 luxury fashion apps including Mytheresa, Farfetch, and Net-a-Porter, running competitive teardowns on 6 key flows. Through 22 in-depth interviews with luxury shoppers aged 28–55, we found that the dominant frustration was the disconnect between editorial brand experiences in print/email and the transactional feel of current apps. Our design strategy centered around removing all marketplace-like UI patterns — no star ratings, no 'bestseller' badges — and replacing them with storytelling-first product presentation that mirrors the brand's magazine aesthetic.

Project Results

In the beta launch with 500 invited users, session duration averaged 8.4 minutes — 3.2× longer than the industry benchmark for fashion apps. Product page scroll completion rate reached 74%, indicating high editorial engagement. Add-to-cart rate was 23%, compared to an industry average of 9%. The personal stylist chat was used by 41% of beta users in their first session. The design earned an internal brand award for best digital product launch in the group's 15-year history.
